OCCET Action endorses Aaruni Thakur for Fullerton City Council District 4.
Aaruni Thakur is a workers’ compensation attorney and community organizer. Thakur has served in the Fullerton School Board and the city’s commissions of Energy and Parks and Recreation.
Thakur’s top priorities include:
- supporting pro-worker policies and encouraging protection in the era of COVID
- fixing roads and potholes
- real, compassionate solutions to the homelessness crisis

Fullerton
Fullerton has five City Council members. City Council members establish city policy, pass ordinances, and vote on the budget. The Council appoints a City Manager, who oversees the administration of the city; and selects one council member to serve as the Mayor.
Fullerton transitioned from at-large elections to district elections in 2016 in compliance with the Voting Rights Act.
City Council members for Districts 1, 2 and 4 will be elected in 2020.
