Job: Field Data Coordinator

The Field Data Coordinator will help manage use of the organization’s PDI system and supporting voter engagement tools to facilitate successful electoral and issue-based campaigns.

Under the supervision of OC Action’s Research Director, the Field Data Coordinator will help manage use of the organization’s PDI system and supporting voter engagement tools to facilitate successful electoral and issue-based campaigns. This includes using PDI to set up flags and survey questions, create lists, and coordinate and cut turf, using third party phone banking, field canvassing, texting, e-mail, and other tools to facilitate voter contact, providing nightly field reports to Table partners, and participating in daily strategy meetings. The Field Data Coordinator will also analyze voter data in support of OC Action research projects, including post-election, strategic, and other analyses.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Use PDI to set up flags and survey questions, create lists, coordinate and cut turf, and report on field outcomes.
  • Use third party voter engagement platforms, including phone banking, field canvassing, texting, e-mail, and other tools, to facilitate direct voter contact.
  • Coordinate use of PDI, third party voter engagement platforms with field staff and Table partners.
  • Provide nightly field reports to Table partners and participate in daily strategy meetings.
  • Analyze voter data in support of OC Action research projects.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service meetings, organizational retreats, and professional development training.
  • Perform any other functions as needed by management and agency.
Minimum Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Experience using the PDI voter data system to set up flags and survey questions, create lists, coordinate and cut turf, and report on field outcomes.
  • Experience using third party voter engagement platforms, including phone banking, field canvassing, texting, e-mail, and other tools.
  • Experience training others on the use of PDI, third-party voter engagement platforms.
  • Experience coordinating use of PDI, third party voter engagement platforms with field staff and Table partners.
  • Ability to use BigQuery and SQL to analyze voter data preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends during campaigns.
  • Must be comfortable with the philosophy and goals of OC Action.
  • Current and valid California Driver’s License and transportation to travel to conferences, meetings, and trainings; verification of car insurance is required.
  • Verification of employment eligibility and background check required.
Non-Essential Qualifications
  • Ability to use data analysis, GIS software to acquire, manage, and analyze census, voter, and other quantitative data.
  • Ability to create tables and graphics that capture research findings.
  • Ability to draft written narrative describing research findings.
  • Ability to present research findings to diverse audiences, including community-based organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree with some experience in related field (preferred, not required)
